Abstract

Unwise application of inorganic fertilizers and pesticides coupled with the abrupt changes in the climatic conditions of the globe caused great challenges for the fulfillment of the sustainable agricultural production systems. Thus, the experiment was conducted with the aim of achieving an improved production of tomato cultivars using the bio-stimulant albit-BR. In the experiment, eight different doses of the bio-stimulant (0 L/ha, 0.1 L/ha, 0.5 L/ha, 1 L/ha, 2.5 L/ha, 5 L/ha, 10 L/ha and 50 L/ha) were applied on four cultivars (Malets, Revansh, Talisman and Fonaric). The study was carried out using Randomized block design in three replications. Results of the experiment showed a positive effect of applying the bio-stimulant on the plant height parameter on Fonaric plants and the marketable yield of all tomato cultivars was also found to be significantly influenced by the bio-stimulant application. The highest marketable yield (95.81 t/ha) was obtained from Malets cultivar treated 2.5 L/ha of albit-BR. In addition to this, the fruit titratable acidity composition of tomato cultivars was significantly influenced by the application of the bio-stimulant albit-BR with the highest value (0.34%) obtained from Fonaric plants treated with 0.1 L/ha of the bio-stimulant. On the basis of the yield increment, albit-BR is prefered to be applied at the dose of 2.5 L/ha.
